About Kaʻū News
We are a community-driven, non-profit newspaper dedicated to sharing factual news, local moʻolelo, and stories of resilience rooted in our ‘āina and culture.
Every bimonthly edition is shaped by our neighbors, volunteers, and local contributors. As a grassroots non-profit, our board and editorial team work side-by-side to ensure our district's stories are told with care, accuracy, and a deep respect for the people and places that anchor our home.
Our Mission
To share Aloha by informing, inspiring and connecting our Kaʻū community through factual, unbiased news, articles and mo’olelo rooted in our ‘āina, history and culture.
Our Purpose
To carry forward the legacy of the Kaʻū Calendar tradition and Julia Neal’s spirit, so that every voice in Kaʻū is heard, every news event is known and every story is told.
