Annual Independence Day Parade & Family Fun Celebration

Nāʻālehu was full of bright smiles and excitement on July 4 as the community came together to enjoy an old-fashioned parade and celebration. Several dozen floats and participants meandered along spectator-lined Highway 11 from Nāʻālehu School to the Hongwanji. After the parade, the community gathered at Nāʻālehu Park for free hot dogs, watermelon, shaved ice, and bouncy houses. The kūpuna gathered in the Community Center for a delicious meal and to play bingo. This annual celebration, sponsored by ʻŌ Kaʻū Kākou, never disappoints!
