7th annual Experience Volcano Festival
Story and Photos By Laila Moire-Selvage
Over the weekend of July 25 and 26, the 7th annual Experience Volcano Festival brought the village to life, celebrating the region’s unique art, music and culture. Despite steady rainforest showers, locals and visitors enjoyed a rich lineup of live entertainment across multiple venues, featuring local favorites like Wendell Ing, Puna Taiko and Mano Ali‘i.
Festival goers were treated to a diverse array of local vendors and cultural demonstrations ranging from lauhala weaving with Kumu Ka‘ohu Seto to interactive ceramic mask making with Ira Ono. Thanks to free shuttles from KapohoKine Adventures, attendees easily navigated between bustling hotspots like Volcano Garden Arts and Cafe Ono, Volcano Winery and the Volcano Art Center, capping off a vibrant weekend that celebrated the community’s spirit.
