Kaʻū High junior Camdon Higbee made school history at the 2026 HHSAA Boys State Wrestling Championships, placing sixth in the 175-pound weight class and finishing the tournament with a hard-fought 3–3 record. Competing against Hawaiʻi’s top wrestlers, Higbee battled through the bracket with determination and resilience to earn a spot on the podium.

According to available online records, Higbee is the first male wrestler from Kaʻū High School in at least 18 years to place at the state tournament — a significant milestone for the Trojans Wrestling program. His achievement highlights not only his personal dedication and work ethic, but also the continued growth of wrestling in the Kaʻū community.

As a junior competing in the 175-pound division, Higbee’s historic finish sets a strong example for younger athletes and brings renewed pride to Kaʻū High athletics.
