South Point U-Cart Customer Appreciation Day
Celebrating One Year Under New Ownership
Stan Troeller Passes the Torch to Peter Billing After 40 Years of Dedicated Service to South Kona and Ka‘ū Districts
After four decades of steadfast service and dedication to the community, South Point U-Cart, a cornerstone business renowned for its commitment to providing the community with construction materials, propane, concrete, and equipment rentals, is entering a new era. The ownership baton is being passed from long-time proprietor Stan Troeller to enthusiastic new owner Peter Billing, marking both a moment of celebration and transformation for the beloved local establishment.
On July 26, 2025, U-Cart Hosted a Customer Appreciation Day with Food, Fun, and Prizes for the Community.
Many of the community members came out to help celebrate South Point U-Cart’s new owners with a BBQ by Big Dog Hot Dogs, live broadcast by Ka‘ū Radio, wood milling demonstrations and watermelon by KIPA, and a raffle for those who attended.
Many businesses supported the event with donations of prizes for the raffle, like Hawaiian Cement with Yeti cooler buckets, Hawaii Gas with a BBQ, HPM with an Ice Chest and Gift Card, Aloha Insurance with a KTA gift card, Kona Country Club with a round of golf, Slabs of wood by KIPA and U-Cart donating a TV and gift card.
Passing the Torch: Welcoming Peter Billing
As Stan prepares to enjoy a well-earned retirement, the community looks forward to a new chapter under the stewardship of Peter Billing. Peter, a businessman with a passion for community and a background in Construction, HVAC and Sheet Metal Fabrication for over 40 years, brings fresh energy and ideas to South Point U-Cart. He remains committed to upholding the values and service that have defined it for so long.
“I’m honored to be entrusted with such an important piece of this community’s history,” said Peter. “Stan has set the bar high, and my goal is to carry on that tradition while exploring new ways to serve our customers even better.”
Celebrating the Past, Building the Future
The event recognized Stan’s remarkable legacy with the presentation of a plaque and gift card for him and his wife, Mariann, recognizing the many years of dedication and service to the Ocean View community. Kaida was also recognized for his years behind the counter, the face of U-Cart for so long; they both will be missed.
Former employees and customers shared memories, talked story, and wished Stan well as he officially moves into retirement.
Peter Billing and his wife Tara will now be tasked with carrying on the legacy that Stan has left behind. They both look forward to the challenges ahead and hope to make South Point U-Cart a viable business for many years to come.
